Bruce Street and Aesop Australian Headquarters are shortlisted in the 2024 INDE. Awards – a program that celebrates exceptional and boundary-breaking architecture and design.
Shortlisted in The Building Space category, Bruce Street is an eight-storey commercial development set within Kensington’s historic industrial precinct. Delivering both the architectural and interior design elements, the design pays tribute to the project’s historical site with its robust form made up of concrete slabs spliced with red brick piers, balanced with fine metal balustrades.
The Building Space category is the grand prize for the region’s most progressive architecture and is awarded to the project that marks a new direction in the future of architecture as well as its capacity to respond to its local place and culture.
Also shortlisted is Aesop Australian Headquarters, which features in the Work Space category. Restrained and graceful, the new headquarters and nearby laboratory of Aesop appear effortless in their purpose and personality. Yet, the journey to achieving this built outcome is one of meticulous detail and strategy.
The workplace is social and cultural, as much as it is functional. This award honours a workspace design that meets the demands of work and the needs of people.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards evening in Sydney on Thursday 1 August 2024.
