Carr has been shortlisted in the Victorian chapter of the 2025 Australian Institute of Architects Awards with Como Terraces and 116 Rokeby.

Como Terraces
Shortlisted in the Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing category, Como Terraces is set upon a once-in-a-lifetime site overlooking the verdant banks of Birrarung (Yarra River). Read as a series of buildings rather than one large apartment block, Como Terraces is developed by Cbus Property and Sterling Global and appears as a collection of monolithic forms forged from the earth. The overall architectural outcome of Como Terraces is a collection of three-storey built forms that traverse the topography with slight shifts and rotations to maximise expansive views, space, and natural light to all apartments.
As the client for Como Terraces, Cbus Property says the project “blends seamlessly” with its unique location. “Together with Sterling Global, we worked to create elegant riverside residences that are both beautiful and architecturally sensitive to their surroundings. The result is an iconic development that leaves a lasting impression.”

116 Rokeby
Entered in the Commercial Architecture category, the design of 116 Rokeby is conceived to create a ‘breathing space’, which represents our vision for this future office. It is founded on the desire to shape spaces that harness the fundamental characteristics of abundant natural light, controlled fresh air, adaptability in space, and environmental sustainability – all set within a strong built form.
“From conception we have been working towards designing a gas neutral building in response to what we see as a climate and biodiversity emergency within the industry,” says Director Stephen McGarry.
The Victorian winners will be announced on Friday 27 June. State winners will be entered into the National Architecture Awards, to be announced in November 2025.
