Norton Rose National Branding
01 February 2010
Lindy Mace, National Facilities and Procurement Manager, Norton Rose commented,
“Carr Design and Deacon’s highly successful relationship over the past 10 years made them the first choice in the re-branding of all Deacons offices around the country to reflect the Norton Rose merger.
Under an extraordinarily short time frame and with a minimal budget, Carr successfully developed an individual branding installation for each of the five tenancies. Not only did these effectively answer the brief for the incorporation of the Norton Rose logo, but clear references to locality were cleverly introduced.
Carr continues to deliver innovative design solutions on time and on budget.”
In particular, and in a clear move away from two dimensional forms, the Melbourne installation highlights infrastructure, this being one of the group’s key industries, while also referencing its Melbourne locale.
Melbourne’s signage installation specifically suggests the Melbourne CBD’s iconic Hoddle Grid via a visible representation of systems, networks and matrixes. A series of illuminated acrylic rods protrude from the Hoddle Grid graphic at various lengths thus emulating the city’s subtle topography. These rods reference the street network and glow at the tip, thereby distinguishing the city’s built form against natural landscape.
Carr was responsible for the design and implementation of the branding project throughout Australia proving effective in achieving budget and meeting the groups launch deadline of January 1, 2010.
